Malia's getting baptized!

Many of you have asked, and so I thought it easiest to post the information here rather than try and call everyone. Our beautiful Anamalia turns 8 this Friday, and is getting baptized the following day, the 5th, at the Stake Center on 1600 North in Orem at 10:00 AM. She's decided that she would like to be confirmed the next day, Sunday, during Sacrament Meeting at 1:00. My Malia has never been forthcoming with any of her feelings that are deeply felt...been that way since she was a baby. You have to pay real close attention to her cues, otherwise you'll miss what she's trying to tell you. But I knew that she was disappointed that her Dad wouldn't be able to baptize her. We talked about the love he feels for her, and about how although being baptized by your father is special, ultimately getting baptized is less about who baptizes you and more about the Priesthood used to perform such a beautiful ordinance. I am still feeling out the waters on that one to see how she's doing with such an alteration in her original plans. She's also the first one to have a birthday after his death. But so far, all of the girls have done surprisingly well with Halloween and Thanksgiving...I can hope that her birthday and baptism will bring joy to her and not too much sorrow. We just can't wait for Saturday...she's so excited it's contagious...
